The variation of Japanese wedding dress “Kimono”

There are 4 kinds of Japanese wedding dresses “Kimono” for brides. The most popular one is Shiromuku. Furisode is taken when changing dress during the wedding party in general.

Many brides change their dress once or twice during the wedding party. It is called “Oiro-naoshi” in Japanese.

Shiromuku

It is integrated for white only. In Japan, white is a symbol color of purity. Shiromuku is the most polite and traditional style.

Iro-Uchikake

Iro-Uchikake is as polite as Shiromuku style. The dress express glorious image.

Furisode

Furisode is the dress for unmarried woman. Brides wear this as the last Kimono for unmarried woman in Japan.

Hiki-Furisode

Hiki-Furisode is the dress which bottom is very long. Its origin is the wedding of Samurai families. “Samurai” is the Japanese traditional warrior.
